Got Good Fear?
Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
There have been seasons in my life where I find myself in a spiritual funk. Because I am analytical to a fault I tend to outsmart myself as to the reason why. It turns into “Paralysis by Analysis.” The Lord has made it simple but I want to overcomplicate it.
When the apostles continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers there was a “fear” that came upon every soul. This fear was a good fear. Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Lord Jesus, I desire wisdom and understanding of You and Your ways. Please help me to remember to practice the simplicity of Acts 2:42 and let this “good fear” come upon me.
