Rejoice! Your Engraved!

This is my all time favorite scripture verse.

There are times in everyone lives when we feel that the Lord has forsaken us and/or forgotten us. Life can bring so many challenges and it seems that it is easier to give into disouragement than to stay encouraged by His word. But this scripture brings so much revelation and encouragement that at times all I have to say is I'm engraved in His hands and the feeling of discouragement goes away.

Can a woman have no compassion on the son of her womb. Before I had my two sons I didn't really relate with this part of the passage, but now more than ever, I can say that I cannot fathom forgetting my sons in the sense of their existence. And this is how I take this passage that not only can He forget I am alive in Him, but even the small things that I sometimes forget as a woman who has sons from my womb. I sometimes forget to check a diaper or even that they didn't have lunch and so the candy they are eating is not good for them. Even the small things He cannot forget. Like knowing my faovrite candy bar and putting it on someone heart to just give it to me out of the blue. The Bible also says that He knows the number of hairs of each and every one of our heads. That is insanely.......incredible.

He says that He cannot and will not forget us because He has engraved us in the palm of His hands. Just as sure as our fingerprints will not fall off our hands, we will not fall out of His hands for we have been engraved. You can wash your hands a milliion times and your fingerprints will remain. You can shake everyone's hand in the world and your fingerprints will remain. You can wave your hands around and around in the windiest wheather and your fingerprints remain. You can burn your hands and your fingerprints will remain. There is nothing that you can do to remove your fingerprints (at least I hope there isn't) Just as sure as we have imprinted fingerprints on our hands, we have been engraved in His hands. In John 10:28 Jesus says that no one can snatch us out of His hands. Jesus is truth and so whatever He says stands true forever, without end. We have assurance and certainty that no one can snatch us out of His hand. Paul said it Romans 8:38-39 like this, For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us (snatch us from Him) from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And then on top of that He says that our walls are continually before Him. He knows what we are facing in life. He knows all about the hurdles and obstacles that we have to overcome. He knows all about the issues that causes love to be blocked in our hearts. He knows it all and yet He decided to engrave us right smack in the palm of His hand.

Thank you Lord Jesus.
