Living in the eye of a hurricane

2 THes. 2 is a wake up call for all believers. There is a silent war being waged an enemy that is plotting to tear down the Christian faith and it is happening TODAY! The Antichrist is on the move and orchestrating events to usher in his "theology" and God is actually going to let some who have been in love with unrighteousness to believe His lie. What protects us from his lies .... TRUTH. The gift of His word to be the light unto our feet and lamp unto our path. Though fear has a way of creeping up through this area of scripture I love how Paul ends the section:
"Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work."
Though the enemy may have power...we have a promise which supersedes his power. The promise of everlasting consolation. The word consolation means to have one called to your side as an advocate. How sweet it is to have an advocate. I think of just recently some false accusations being flung at me and to have people in my corner was so freeing and comforting. I didn’t have to defend myself because the people who were with me were there to support my character. To think that Jesus is in our corner...our advocate...there to wage war against any accusation brought against us is comforting to say the least. Though there is a war we can have peace because of who is at our side! Living in the eye of a hurricane.
Thank You Jesus for the Truth that You bring to us. You never sugar coat where we are at in life or what is to come but You are forever in my corner. Though I don't understand it, how You could be in my corner, I love you for it and pray that my life will be a reflection of my great thankfulness to You.
