Two paths
Paul seems to be drawing two distinct paths. One is of law and flesh. Although he lists many sins which are evident of the flesh, it is important to note that within the context of the entire chapter, he is equating the idea of righteousness through law (legalism) with the flesh. This path of law and flesh does not lead to the Kingdom of Heaven.
On the other hand is Spirit. Listing the fruit of the Spirit provides a litmus test to show which path we are on.
What is most important is that the fruit of the Spirit is not law, but rather love, goodness, joy, peace, self-control, patience, etc. This, not law, is what reveals Christ in our lives to others.
