access always
Before Jesus came there where priests in office assigned to go before God in behalf of the people, however there where two problems.
1. They had to first of all be cleansed of their own sin.
2. They would eventually die.
This would leave God’s people to have to wait and rely on the next person in line to take over the high priest.
This is what sets Jesus apart as our ultimate high priest. He lives forever and He was without sin. This means that Jesus will never not be there, He will remain our high priest forever, going before God on our behalf as our representative as children of God. I love how verse 25 says that He ‘always lives to intercede for them.’ This reminds me that there will never be a time when I go before God and Jesus my high priest will not be there on my behalf. He was always be there for me no matter what I am going to him for and no matter what time it is day or night He is there.
God thank you that I have access to You through your son Jesus. That because of Him I can go before you boldly and live in fellowship with You father. Thank you that you made a way for us to ‘always’ have access to You.
