People of God
In another passage it says that Moses chose to suffer affliction with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. This misguided act is a direct action from that choice. It sort of sealed it.
What I would like to know is how Moses knew that the Israelites were his brethren. Did he learn it from his Mom before she handed him over to the Pharaoh's Daughter (Most kids nursed until around 5 or older in those days) If so she must have really ingrained it in his head. I doubt the Pharaoh's daughter would have taught him. I suppose his features could have been different from the Egyptians although I am not sure how different. If so he may have figured it out on his own, or asked about it until he got answers or maybe even was teased about it (kids can be so cruel)
However he found out he made the right choice, despite the consequences. Even now choosing to stand with the People of God is beginning to have some very negative consequences in America. Surely it will get worse. Make your choice now, and stick to it.
