Standing Your Ground

I think that sometimes, we don't see the need to be grounded in our faith. We don't see the intensity of the spiritual warefare that battles constantly around us. Satan and all his army are masters at disquise, and every day they are out to bring us down. So why have I ever thought that I could just get by with a shallow, wavering faith? Why would I not invest everything in me into the One that, with his breath, overthrows the evil one? Oh, how I wish I could be rid of this flesh, this worldly desire within me. How I wish that I would surrender all of me, whatever I have to offer, to the only One that can handle it. God, I pray that you would put in me a desire to love you all the way, and to not be satisfied with just getting by.

"So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. " (vs.15)
"So, friends, take a firm stand, feet on the ground and head high. Keep a tight grip on what you were taught, whether in personal conversation or by our letter." -The Message

I pray for all of us, that we would hold tight to what we have been taught by the Holy Spirit and those who speak to us on his behalf.I pray that daily, our hearts would recieve His strength, rest, and encouragement. Our Father is the ultimate encourager; he will never leave you in the dark.

"May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word."

So let us continue to run the race that has been set before us with the complete strength that He has given us!
