Love is affection and correction
Sometimes we want God to be all about the Sunshine, Lollypops and Rainbows of Life. We thank him fervently when he blesses us, and pray expectantly for God's sweet rewards. Yet suffering for Christ is also promised. In the same breath as we seek to be more like Christ, we are still stumbling in sins.
As we grow God blesses us affectionately and corrects us with discipline. That is the discipline that helps us to Grow, into the person that God wants us to be.
Failure is not bad, it is necessary so we can learn from our mistakes. The problem with failure is when we refuse to learn or admit fault and grow from the experience.
