Appealing Truth

I'm looking out my window admiring the beauty of the snow. It appeals to me as to most people- alot more than rain. I started thinking, why does it? It's really the same thing. Obviously the difference being the temperature on why it's snow instead. It got me thinking of God's truth. No matter what "form" it comes in, it's still the truth. It just looks/sounds better in a form that appeals to me. I hear the truth just as anyone else does. Yet, when it doesn't appeal to me, I don't really pay attention to it. This is an easy deception. In 1 John 1:8 it says, "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us". The reason I see/hear the truth differently is truly a reflection of how I see my sin. Sin is ALL sins and truth is ALL truth! I don't always recognize the sins that don't stick out, only the "textbook" sins. There are many more. I have never claimed to be sinless, but I have overlooked other sins. I do not want to be deceived and not have the truth in me! This is a strong truth, as with ALL truth, regardless if it appeals to me.

Father, thank you for your grace and mercy! I need them both every breath I take. I want to consider your son Jesus more than just when I am in your word. I realize each new day how much more I need you. Even if my flesh tends to change it to fit me, your truth stays the same. I love you Lord and it blows my mind how you could love me. I'm thankful that you do! Please teach me to love like you and continue to reveal yourself to me.
