Praying For Boldness
Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
The apostles were just threatened not to talk about Jesus. Their solution was to pray and ask God for boldness. For a while now my wife and I have been praying for God’s leading in our lives. I have to confess that my biggest obstacle of moving in the direction that I think that God is leading us in is fear. Yesterday there was a presentation given at our church. One of the people giving the presentation prayed for boldness over those who are scared to move. I definitely received that prayer and I have been mediating on it since. When I read here how the apostles prayed for boldness it was a reminder that I shouldn’t just wait around to feel bold but that I need to be actively praying for God to make me be bold.
Lord Jesus, Please shake me out of my fears and fill me with boldness. Help me to not be paralyzed by fear but to be bold and move in the direction that I think You are leading me in.
