A Seeker-Friendly Worship Experience

16 But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation always say,
“The Lord be exalted!”

The word "seeker" has become somewhat of a buzz word in Christian circles. We talk about being "seeker-sensitive" and "seeker-friendly". Churches around the USA boast about having seeker services that fill up on both Saturday nights and Sundays. But here's the thing: we're all seekers. Even if you've been a born-again, baptized-by-dunking, card-carrying, flag-waving believer for 40 years, you are still a seeker. We never stop seeking after God.

Have you been married for one year? Do you know your spouse? Is there more to know?
Have you been married for ten years? Do you now fully know your spouse? Is there still more you are discovering?
Have you reached your twenty-fifth anniversary yet? Have you graduated from the college of spousal knowledge? Do you still need further coursework?
Are you one of the few that have passed forty or fifty years of marriage? Might there still be some mystery, some aspects of the relationship to explore?

You all know that a wedding is a great deal different than a marriage. Anybody can get married; it's in sustaining and nurturing that relationship that is the challenge in marriage. So it is with God. The longer we find ourselves in a relationship to Him, the greater the urgency to seek Him. The more we see of his majesty, his mercy, his power and his love, the greater our desire to seek him.
