A Stirred Heart
God intentionally stirred specifichearts for this work in Jerusalem. In other words, there were some whose hearts weren't stirred and probably didn't understand why they felt so strongly about going back, maybe some even objected to the idea because they felt like Cyrus was only doing this as part of his polytheistic beliefs.
I've been trying to imagine what that must've been like for them; was it a struggle, or did they react with joy?
Then I realized that is no different than what He did in me, and stilldoes in me. How do I respond when He stirs my heart? Do I care what objections others may have to what I feel stirred about?
However, the most profound element in this whole passage is that the King of Heaven stirs my heart, insignificant little me! Wow!
Thank You God for loving me that much!
