Love Struck
"We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him."
1 John 4:16
God's love has been a mysterious thing for me lately. I always hear how much he loves me but I never really take it to heart. I always hear that his thoughts for me alone are more than the sands on the beaches yet I am still unchanged.
I love the comparison the word give of us being his bride and that he is the groom constantly pursuing us, never letting us go. The bible gives us a deeper example in that of Hosea. Hosea was called to marry a prostitute. Time and time again she turned her back on him yet he took her back every single time without a second thought. He never stopped pursuing her. He never stopped loving her despite the countless times she turned her back on him. God loves like that.
Despite the countless times we constantly turn our backs on him, he never stops pursuing us. He wants to spend time with us. He wants to be close to us. Just because we may not always feel His love doesn't make it not true. His love is the only love that can ever fill us completely. Why then do we search for it elsewhere? Let us stop searching and make a choice to abide in his love. There is no other place comparable.
“Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love."
John 15:9
