A Sufficient Covering

At first glance, this seems to be a strange passage to include in a reading plan entitled "The Essential Jesus" because there is no mention of him in the passage.
Of course, in this passage we see that Adam and Eve sinned. And just like many people they tried to "cover" their sin on their own by sewing together fig leaves. The thing is that these leaves would not last long as covering. They were insufficient.
So, what did God do, He provided a better covering for them. Well, He did the same for all of us. He sent His Son to the cross to die for our sins. Only Jesus' sacrifice is sufficient.
