This verse should be plastered on every leaders wall somewhere. What a breath of fresh air in a church leadership culture that is obsessed with church growth. In full context Paul is talking about the individual spiritual growth of the believer, and how it cannot be credited to anyone particular to leader, but I think it would be fair to also place this as a lens over our churches and groups that we pastor and lead.
God grows churches! Not strategies, not good music, not sermon series, not hiring the right staff person, only God. Our only call is to be faithful to what he has called us to "for the one who waters and plants does so for the same purpose" God help us to realize that church growth is ordained by you, and it's not man made. Help our hearts to stay faithful on Monday or Thursday mornings regardless of our attendance and offerings.
