My favorite passage of scripture

This is my favorite passage of scripture and is kind of a life motto. Haven't come anywhere near understanding all that Paul means about "the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings" and "becoming like him in his death" but I'm asking for more insight... I admit I sometimes am scared about the delivery method of such teaching but I mentally assent to the fact that God has my best interests at heart. I resonate with Paul's "I want to know Christ". I want that so badly, to know Him more, but often my actions don't show that and words without actions belie what we really think and feel about things. It's not a negative just a starting point to ask help from. Asking "help me Father to really want to know you more", I think gets at the heart of knowing him more. As I'm partnering with him by pursuing depth of knowledge and relationship my desire to know him more grows.
