Road to Peace


Have you noticed that he doesnt say here to rejoice sometimes? He says to rejoice always and make your attitude evident to those around you. Have you ever been in a funk? One thing goes wrong after another and you just feel frustrated. I find that on those tough days this verse brings be great comfort.
And how does it say to receive this amazing peace?
1: Rejoice in your tough times. Recognize that God diciplines those He loves just as a parent to a child. This tough day only means He loves you and is perfecting you.
2: Make sure your outward attitude shows your inward appreciation for God's gift of salvation and continual blessings.
3: Remember that the Lord is near. How powerful to know that God NEVER leaves us -- even at our worst moments!
4: Guard yourself from anxiety and worry. How does worry improve the situation?
5: Pray and petition to God about everything!! Even those little things. Have you ever seen a child show interest in something so small you wonder why they bother? The parent still cares as does God, our father.
6: Be thankful for each moment, even the ugly ones.
7: Allow the peace of God to flow through you and guard your heart and mind. Accept His peace, knowing that while you may not understand the purpose of the moment, it does hold a purpose. Which story in the Bible has no meaning? Which moment did God act without meaning or reason? He has a purpose in each moment of our lives as well.
8: Lastly, free yourself from future worry and anxiety by thinking of things that are praiseworthy. Dont dwell in this moment of frustration. Do not allow yourself to wallow!
4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.

Focus on what you desire, not those things that hinder you. Do not allow Satan to distract you from the real purpose in life -- guarding your soul and bringing other souls to Christ.
