God is the Light

Wait a minute! How could there be light before the sun was around. I'm thinking there is also light mentioned in two other verses...one in 1John 1:5 where God says He is light and Revelation 21:23 where God says there is no need for sun or moon because God will be the light and the Lamb (Jesus) will be the lamp. It's cool to see how God separates the light and makes day and night before he puts the sun and the moon in to provide light!
