Know Your Audience.
I love this simple and maybe often avoided truth...I have heard Tozer speak of it. Jesus taught his audience, "as they were able to receive it". He knew that some things at the moment lay beyond them to understand and so for the time being he refrained. Certainly discernment and intimate knowledge of the audience is needed. No problem for Christ...great problem for we who speak to others...or audiences. This then means practically a great leaning upon the Holy Spirit for insight and wisdom and also perhaps some time with the audience to which we speak. For me Father i know i have had these checks before and thank you for them. Help me to like Jesus - speak to the crowd...as it is able to really...hear!
