A Light We’ve All Been Waiting For

Isaiah speaks of those under the “shadow of death.” Do not read this as some mild and meek term (like someone asking whether you would rather be run over by a semi or merely it’s shadow – duh? I think I’ll take the shadow!). No, Isaiah means the real thing. “Shadow” simply suggests that the ominous presence of the worst darkness known to mankind has you in its sights! You have come face-to-face with the grim reaper clutching his scythe poised to harvest your soul. Imagine his shadow has enveloped you with nowhere to hide, turn or run. Then suddenly, out of nowhere you see a great light shining forth on you giving you life and dispelling the darkness of this grim reaper forever! Isaiah says, “let me introduce you to the one whose birth is the light we’ve all been waiting for!”
