Do you believe it? I live it every day.

My dad was diagnosed with cancer in April 2007. He didn't undergo chemo or radiation because he chose to live out this verse. He chose to let God decide when he would die, not men. His prognosis by the oncologist was 3 more months of life. He lived 17 more months! He traveled to the Blue Mountains of Jamaica 3 times with his mission group, taught Sunday school, Bible studies, and mentored people on-line up to the last hour of his life. He lived and breathed the truth of this scripture with urine bags attached to his legs the last 4 months of his life and an irritating cough from the cancer in his lungs. Though he left me nothing in his will, my inheritance is knowing that his transformation is complete! He is in the Presence of our Lord Jesus! My dad is living forever because he saw something that only the Holy Spirit could do, and when He did a miracle, it broke my father's hard heart.
On the 24th of May in 1998, my father saw me lying in the ICU, in a coma, after a car ran through a red light and hit us broadside. My injuries were severe: the pelvis was snapped in 4 places, 6 broken ribs, lacerated renal artery, damaged brain stem, 3 brain surgeries from 3 bleeds. The prognosis was death or vegetative state for life. I live, I can walk and talk and praise my Saving Shepherd all day long because we know, my dad and I, that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His Purpose. I trust His Ways implicitly because I know His Heart.
