Prayer - always could do better.

I'm always challenged by how much Paul seems to pray for people who aren't himself. I pray regularly - pretty much every day, but Paul's prayers appear more selfless in their focus. I will generally pray about me and my ministry. Paul prays for others and their ministry. I also have no doubt that he would have prayed for longer than me! He's a great example to us but I like to think that every now and then, very rarely I'm sure, that Paul may have fallen asleep during one of his pre-bed prayer sessions.

I heard a good warning recently as well. We can read passages like this one and feel we are hopeless at praying. Then Satan takes that and makes you feel really, really guilty for not praying one hundred hours a day. We hear of incredible Christians who finish each day with two hours meditation and Satan tells us we are worthless cos we only managed 10 minutes. What's the lesson? Don't be guilted into praying our reading your bible. Do it cos a relationship with God is the greatest relationship you can ever invest in and prayer and his word the key ways you will reap the benefits of that relationship. Put a positive spin on it, ditch the doubt.
