When God operates on you, He doesn't waste any time. He knocked out Adam and then took out his rib & then sowed him back up (probably perfectly with no scaring or evidence of surgery). Wouldn't that be awesome if that happened to us? Time for surgery God - knock me out & fix me.
Sometimes we lose site of this wonderful thing that God did for us in creating a helpmate for Adam, but I was struck by the precision that He used. God is perfect, so of course, surgery would be perfect, but author of the passage notes the precision as a testament to God's power. Rest in His mighty hands today.
