Don’t Stop Asking!
One of the hindrances that stops me from asking Jesus to fill me with His Spirit is I often do not feel even worthy to be asking. But when I look at the life of John I have hope. The Bible says this about John: Luke 1:15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.”
John also witnessed the Spirit fall upon Jesus. John 1:33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”
John was filled with the Spirit from the time he was an infant and he witnessed the Spirit fall upon Jesus but yet he had weaknesses and doubted. Luke 7:19 And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”
Lord Jesus, please do not let my weaknesses and doubts ever stop me from asking You to be filled with the Your Spirit.
