Are you ready?
No matter how you swing it, the text says many, not all. The king invited many many people to his feast, but many [unbelievers] also turned their back him. The king finally invited many strangers in the end, but one was not prepared. It was common for guests to receive garments to wear at a wedding feast so they would be properly dressed. To deny this would have been like saying "I want to be there, just not fully participate" or "I'll come, but I don't want to do all that to enjoy the feast".
Check out Revelation 7:14 - the great multitude in white robes stand before the throne of God. Those chose, those elect, finally stand before the throne of God. Their white robes have been washed in the blood of Christ after their perseverance and perfection by God. These elect have been invited to God's kingdom. They have accepted that invitation and lived a life according to God's will. They have faced trouble and hardship but have persevered and been continuously perfected. And the garments that God gave them have been washed in the blood of the lamb so they may stand perfect and purified before the throne of God.
We have been invited. We have been given a robe to wear. Are we ready to fully participate in the glory God has in store for us to experience in heaven? Are we ready to put on the garment he's given us, knowing that we will face trouble? But knowing also that we will be perfected to wear that white robe when we stand before God in his kingdom!
