Hiding From GOD
Isolation. This is one of the enemy's greatest weapons against believers. I've seen it in my life and in others. The enemy comes to Adam and Eve when they are alone and he begins seducing them. Adam and Eve make a decision to disobey their maker, and run to hide when they hear GOD calling. It appears as if they knew GOD would be displeased. Instead of 'facing the music', they attempt to run and hide...isolating themselves from the one who created them and loves them.
GOD's design for believers is community. GOD desires each believer to be connected to other believers, and for those believers to live in community together. Our enemy, satan, desires us to be isolated and alone. This is where the enemy thrives, in our isolation. Community is often difficult. Believers want everyone to think the best of them and our "issues" are often swept under the rug. Our handshake and "doing great" answers hide a multitude of emotions and issues. Community allows these issues to surface and be properly handled. Community allows us to love each other through the issues and problems each of face. Let's live, love, and worship together...and not allow satan to seduce and isolate us from GOD and his family. After all, GOD loved us in spite of our sins.
