Think about it
I am one who will act impetuously when I am hurt and angry. My words or actions come out of my anger and rather than help the already tense situation, it furthers the gulf between me and another person. I cannot undo rash words - even later, whenI apologize there is scarring left on that person.
God speaks to me here in Psalm 4 - think about it, remain silent, offer to Him the right sacrifices of not letting my emotions rule me, but rather letting God reign in me.
You see, if I stop and think about what happened, and not say or do anything right in that moment, God can intervene in my heart and in the other person.
Even when anger maybe justified, I bring glory to God by thinking and praying about / for the situation and especially the person. Thank you Lord, for teaching me to think before I speak and act.
