Placing blame
In Genesis 3:12, Adam places the blame on Eve saying, "The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it." He says this even though in Genesis 3:6, it says that Eve gave the fruit to her husband "who was with her"... so Adam had just as much a part in the decision as Eve did. And then Eve blames the serpent for deceiving her in Genesis 3:13.
Seems like no one wants to take the blame for eating the forbidden fruit. But one thing that I find interesting is that no one blamed God for ever putting the tree in the garden in the first place. It seems like these days, when something goes wrong in our lives, some people tend to blame God, asking "How could He do this to me?" or "Why did He let this happen?"
The thing is, God is a perfect being. God doesn't do things out of hate or spite. He does things out of love. Had he not given Adam and Eve the free will to make their own decisions and actually forced them to obey, their existence would be completely hollow. But because God gave us the free will to make bad decisions doesn't mean that He doesn't love us, or that he's testing us. He wants us to prove to Him that we love Him and are WILLING to obey Him, rather than be forced to obey Him. When we have to make a decision in our life, our decision should be to obey God.
