Great Faith
As I read the bible I tend to pick out people who have faced many great obstacles in their lifetime. Ones who required complete faith in God, stripping themselves to let God lead. Reading Luke 1 revealed to me how much faith Mary had to have. She believed and trusted in her Lord without any question or doubt. Her reply was simply, "May it be done to me according to your word." Gosh, those words cause my heart to race. Mary was just told she will be having the Son of God. What would be your first reaction?? Probably what mine would have been, having tons, no millions of questions to ask the angel. However, Mary didn't have fear but faith. She knew her Lord had a plan and if he needed her to play a role in it, she was willing to sacrifice herself for him. I admire Mary's faith, strength, and peace. I pray as Christains when we are up against something that seems impossible, we look towords Mary. Her faith brought us the the Son of the God, whom we celebrate his birth on December 25.
