Eating Well
John 4:34 Jesus said, “My food is to do what the One who sent Me wants Me to do and to finish His work.”
The disciples were begging Jesus to eat and He replies that doing the work of His Father is His food. How can that be food? Food sustains us and it gives us strength. Without food we would die. So does doing the work of the Father sustain us? If we do not do the work of the Father will we die?
Adam & Eve died when they ate the wrong food. If they would of chose to ate of the food that God wanted them to eat rather than the food of what Satan and self wanted for them they would have not died spiritually. Death entered their lives and their communion with God was broken after they ate the wrong food. And so it is with me. If I am not eating God’s food and doing and finishing the work that He has given me, I will die spiritually.
Lord Jesus, help me to eat of the food that You want me to eat. Help me to do and finish the work of what You want me to do. Also, help me physically to eat well and seek after Your will the way I seek after breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. I need and ask for more of You and less of me......
