...losing sight of God

2 Samuel 11:1-12:25. -David commited this horrific act- he stole Uriah's wife, and then had him(one of his mighty-men-of-valor) killed. In 12:13, Nathan sad that "the LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die". So, though David would not die for this, there were still consequences. The son born from this adulterous act died, in spite of David's pleading with God. And division and fightings plagued David's family. -though God did not kill David for this son, in 12:15 we see that David's made God a laughing stock in the midst of His enemies. -Did David consider, when he thought to call Bathsheba to himself, just what kind of light that would shed on God? Or, was he so caught up in his flesh, in the carnal world, that he lost sight of the God he loved, and who loved him? -How often I end up losing sight of You, my Lord. In the face of temptation or trial, I forget You. I forget that You've said Hebrews 13:5 "I will never leave you nor forsake you", and in 1 Cor 10:13 "...; but God is faithful who will no allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, by with the temptation will also make theable to bear it." and in Matt 28:20 "...; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Help me not to forget You. Or to forget You're with me. Or that You provide the needed strength in te midst of temptation and trial!
