Did God Say?
The Devil has been using the same deceptions for millenia and they still work. As a point leader in an organization, I struggle with this burning question, "Did God really say...? Often I spend time desiring to hear from God regarding direction for our local church. When I do hear from Him, I either tend to run ahead in the direction he pointed or I quickly disregard His direction and go the way I think best. When will we learn? When will I learn? I want, as the old hymn says, to simply "trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey."
Also, in regards to the church being the pillar of truth, we have to be able to boldly and unapologetically say, "Yes. God really said..." The Truth may at times hurt, but it is simple, beautiful, powerful, life-changing, and never changing.
God, I KNOW better, help me to DO better. Please help me to hear you, judge what I hear by your Word, and then to trust and obey.
