God of the Gaps?

This passage is often read as a primitive explanation of the origin of the rainbow. This is because we now know exactly how rainbows occur - basic optic principles of reflection and refraction. However, I think that there is a much different take-home lesson: God's message of His faithfulness and mercy is written into the very laws of nature. I don't serve a god who fills in the gaps of our knowledge - He is the one who wrote the laws that allows us to have such knowledge and signed His name in Creation's beauty and intricacy.
