When we were born again we received a new heart, and if your experience was anything like mine, you will remember that you had a tremendous desire for the things of God. The new heart that we received was filled with new desires. I can remember someone asking me why I had given up some things after accepting the Lord. My reply was “I did not give them up; I lost interest.” The new desires
that came with the New Birth replaced my old desires. We need to pray for Godly desire to be formed in our hearts and that God will overwrite natural desires that take us away from Him with spiritual desires that cause us to seek Him.
