Out of Egypt

In Hosea 11:1, God speaks through the prophet Hosea by saying "When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt". God points to Israel's history when they were brought out of Egypt to become an independent nation. Mat. 2:14-15 applies this verse to Jesus, who was taken by Joseph and Mary to Egypt and was then called back to Palestine after Herod's death.
