Anger costs the angry, the selfish lose them self
Cain doesn't want to give as he should. Because he won't give, he loses. Cain loses his temper. God calls him on it and warns him that there is a battle with sin to win. Cain, in his anger, loses that battle when he kills his brother. He loses his home. He loses his family. He loses his vocation and identity. What does a farmer do when he can't farm? What would I do if anger caused me to lose my job. And not just lose my job, but never be able to work in my field again? I need to remember that anger endangers the angry. Especially anger like Cain's, that has its root in selfishness.
