The Creation of Man and Woman

God gave us the example for how we are supposed to live out our weekly lives: six days of work with one day of rest. This doesn't necessarily mean that we should have a 48-hour a week job, but it does indicate that we aren't to be totally lazy on the weekend.

One thing that strikes me is how lovingly God made man and how different man is from the rest of the creation. Man was created in God's image and given dominion over the earth. As caretakers of this planet, we aren't to decimate forests or slaughter entire ecosystems, but we shouldn't feel guilty, either, for taking what we need to survive (and a good principle to live by is balance, such as if you cut down a tree, plant a new one).

What is really great is how God knew that man would need companionship and provided for that need. Here, on the sixth day of the creation week, God established what the marriage relationship is supposed to be: one man and one woman for life.
