-This is one of the most exciting chapters in the Bible as you follow Nehemiah from the original burden for his hometown, his desire to leverage his relationship with the King to get permission to rebuild the walls, and now to watch the people of Jerusalem rally around their hometown to restore it.
-One sign of great leadership is the detail to which the people are willing to go in order to establish their task. It doesn’t say that they threw the gates back up or propped something up so that they would stand…instead it talks about the efforts they made to not only repair the wall, but also to reset the doors, bolts, bars, and other details so that they would probably be stronger than they were in recent days.
-I believe that Nehemiah must have felt very full of gratitude for this work that God was doing in and through him. To see your burden translated into action by those on your team is incredibly fulfilling for a leader that is running hard after the Lord and His perfect plan.
