Healing or Excuses
John 5:8 Then Jesus said, “Stand up. Pick up your mat and walk. 9 And immediately the man was well; he picked up his mat and began to walk.
Jesus commands the man who has been sick for 38 years to stand up. I find it interesting that the Bible does not record this man replying to Jesus that he could not get up because of his sickness. Instead, he immediately does what Jesus says to do and he is healed.
What would it look like in my life if I were to immediately respond to Jesus in obedience rather than giving Him excuses?
Lord Jesus, forgive me for not immediately responding to You. I have believed in my excuses more than Your willingness to heal me.
