The Fall and Adam's Response
Adam was present when Eve was tempted, but instead of asserting his role as the head of the family, he stayed quiet and let Eve do battle with the snake. Adam basically relinquished his role as the head of the family, this is something that we are still paying for today. today as I read this passage I asked myself how it applied to me? Well as I see it I have to see what are the things in my family relations that I'm letting my wife "tackle" and do "battle" with, then I must reassert my responsibility as the head of the family and take those things from her. That was not the only thing that Adam failed in, when he was confronted by God, he did not accept responsibility, but instead he passed the buck and blamed his wife. In today's lingo we could say that he threw his wife under the bus. So as we can see there is a lot we could learn from Adam, and be the man that God wants us to be.
