Babel in our daily lives.....
Gen 11:4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
Evidence that focusing on "ourselves" puts us in compromising positions in our lives. Once the focus falls back on Him, as He wants it, life tends to be more in perspective and challenges become opportunities vs. obstacles.
I know I am guilty of this in my own life, and I have shared with other men the same experience. Reaching outside "ourselves" seems to be a common thread in testimony of connected lives with a higher calling. Putting "ourselves" in the center creates introverted perspective and lack of positive connection.
Although we can see this in our lives and the solution seems very clear and evident, the real challenge is to work toward connection to Him and other people in our lives to maintain that level of accountability.
