Would my disciples follow Jesus at a drop of the hat?

Would my disciples follow Jesus at a drop of the hat? When John acknowledged who Jesus is "The Lamb of God" some of his followers had no problem dumping John the Baptist and following Jesus. If I am one who disciples people, do I talk about and live as if I know who Jesus is? Do I have such a passion and grasp that those who follow me are really following Jesus and not me, so when Jesus is seen I am invisible. John knew his place. I need to learn my place. I need to be careful to not make following my leadership about following me instead of following Jesus. Everything I do should prepare people to leave my teaching for something greater they can find somewhere else. But, will my heart and ego let this happen?
