The Protection of the Scarlet Rope
In this passage, Rahab tells the spies to hide for three days. I was struck by the correlation to Jesus' three days in the tomb.
I then began to see correlation to Jesus in the promise made to Rahab. The spies told her to put a scarlet rope in her window and to gather all her family into her marked house. Jesus' blood is red and when we are gathered into his "house" we are protected.
Another instance of this protection by a marked house is just before pharoah released the Israelites from slavery. They were told to put the lamb's blood on their doorposts to keep the angel of death from coming into their home.
Amazing how God reveals Himself and His plan throughout the Bible!
