The biggest catch
Peter did two things Jesus asked. He let Jesus use his boat and he put his nets back into the water. Jesus blessed Peter with a catch so big it filled both boats. Peter's response was to repent. That isn't the way that I respond to blessings. If I am even grateful, it is like being grateful for an A that I earned on a test. I think Jesus' goodness should draw me to repentance and not make me feel good about myself. The reverse is also true. Jesus' discipline should draw me to repentance and not make me feel bad about myself. It really isn't about who I am but about who I am when I am with Jesus.
