I think a lot of Christians look at this verse either with confusion or glee, that Jesus displayed so much anger. While it is an interesting topic, to show that Jesus wasn't a pushover by any means, and that being "meek" doesn't necessarily mean being "mild", I think the more important point is displayed in John 2:17b: "Zeal for your house will consume me."

Jesus' zeal for God's house is clear, and His desire to present His bridegroom as holy and pure is evident. Do we have the same zeal for the church, the bridegroom of Christ?
