When all is lost... praise God
Job 9:20
"Even if I were innocent, my mouth would condemn me;
if I were blameless, it would pronounce me guilty."
How often do things happen in your life where you blame God? You're a loyal follower of Christ, you pray nightly, you sin as little as possible, and then something just goes wrong. Maybe you get laid off, or a close family member dies, or you become ill. Maybe things just keep stacking on top of each other... one bad thing after another.
How often do you praise God under those circumstances?
Even if you feel like bad things are happening to you for no reason, don't let your mouth condemn you. Do not curse God or question Him for allowing things to happen to you. By doing so, you are sinning.
Job 6:10-11
Then I would still have this consolation—
my joy in unrelenting pain—
that I had not denied the words of the Holy One.
“What strength do I have, that I should still hope?
What prospects, that I should be patient?
Even in your pain, know that your source of strength and hope and joy is God. When you feel like all is lost, praise God for what you do have, and pray that He provides you with the knowledge and strength to get you through hard times.
