Releasing Worry vs. "Manana" Attitude

Matthew 6:25-34 expresses how He wants us to deal with worry in our lives. For a big part of us, having no worry in our lives would almost feel foreign, as if the world would come to an end if we did not worry about having to control some part of our, our family, or friends lives in some way. The worry of what would happen if I were like the birds described in these verses ---- care free. If I were that bird, how would I pay the mortgage, car bill, light bill, and all the other priorities in our lives??

I have a few friends that live out the "don't worry" mantra to an extreme. Being from Austin, TX, I have been witness to what I call the "manana attitude" ----- represented by the quote: "why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?" Maybe it has something to do with the water in that part of the world??? : )

These verses are a total blessing in that they let us know that He is in control if we allow Him to be. As He says in Matt 6:33 " But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well".

As with most things in life --- balance of these extremes is the key by making Him the focus. Everything else falls into place ----
