Fight the good fight
From the time Jesus began his ministry for th rest of his life, Scripture tells us that Christ confronts Satan in a huge variety of ways. In our ministry or secular life, whichever we have been called to, we will face the same thing. Yet unlike us, Jesus NEVER caved to the pressure of temptation. When we are following God's will for our lives and carrying out the work he has called us to, we are fighting for His kingdom. What a flippin intense threat to the evil one! And that is why he steps up his game and intensifies his assault on us. As can be expected, we fail to stand firm on truth and scripture like Jesus did, and we fall into sin.
We think it's tough when we face temptation due to our work for the kingdom. We aren't the Son of God! Imagine the big guns Satan had to bring out on Christ during his lifetime! Nothing like we will ever experience, for sure. But it gives us yet another model of Christ's life to follow. How awesome is it to think that when we stand firm and fight in the truth against Satan's temptation, we scare him. We freak him out. We intimidate him. Causing him to step it up. Stay strong. Stand firm. Fight for God's kingdom!
