God did it?
Jacob not only deceives his father, but he attributes it to God.
A lot of people like to say "God made it happen" or "God told me to do this" or "God said this to me." As much as I'd like to give them all the benefit of the doubt, I'm just not content to take someone else's word as God's Word. This verse reminds me that people will use anything -- even the most positive, spiritual sounding reports -- to promote their own agendas.
But Jacob does slip a bit... he says "Because the LORD your God caused it to happen..." He says YOUR God not MY God. He's claiming to have favor from God without having a relationship with Him.
