From "Look at me" to "Look to God."

Joseph is changing.

With his brothers, he had been boastful.

As a slave, he was somewhat humbled, but still pretty full of himself. (See Gen 39:9a)

But something changed while he was in prison, to the point where Joseph no longer feels compelled to boast about his abilities or position. The man who answers Pharoah in Gen 41:16 is humble and broken.
